Gerald Waters attended the State University of New York at Albany, graduating cum laude in 2004.  He graduated from Touro Law School summa cum laude in 2007.  While at Touro Law School, he was a member of the Touro Law Review.

His recent case article “Harner v. County of Tioga” was published at 22 Touro L. Rev. 49 (2006).  During law school, Mr. Waters was a Federal Judicial Clerkship Fellow, and clerked for the Honorable Leonard D. Wexler in the Eastern District of New York.

Mr. Waters was admitted to practice in New York and in the Eastern and Southern Districts of the Federal courts in 2008.

From 2007 until 2010, Mr. Waters worked as a Deputy County Attorney in the Labor Bureau at the Nassau County Attorney.  Mr. Waters took on a large and diverse labor and employment caseload in which he defended Nassau County against cases involving racial, ethnic, sexual, religious, age, military and disability discrimination, as well as cases involving retaliation and collective bargaining contract disputes.

Mr. Waters has handled cases from inception to trial, and has appeared before the New York State Unemployment Insurance Board, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well as New York and Federal Courts.

Mr. Waters has been lead trial counsel in both bench and jury trials involving racial, sexual, religious and political affiliation discrimination, as well as collective bargaining disputes.  Mr. Waters also defended Nassau County at trial in Federal Court in one of the largest class action cases ever filed against the County regarding its strip search policy at the Nassau County Correctional Facility.
