Barak P. Cardenas graduated from New York University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Boston University School of Law in 2001. Mr. Cardenas is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut. In addition, Mr. Cardenas is a member of the bars of the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York.
Mr. Cardenas has been a litigator since 2004, and has litigated matters from inception through trial. He has represented publicly-traded companies in complex, high-exposure actions, and has become proficient in the valuation of lawsuits, settlements and dispute resolution. His litigation practice has also concentrated on defending insurance companies in a wide range of coverage disputes, where he has been able to obtain many favorable judgments. In addition, Mr. Cardenas has represented corporations effectively regarding many different contract disputes.
Prior to joining MSSSV, Mr. Cardenas was a law clerk/Legal Fellow for New York Supreme Court Justice John F. O’Donnell in Erie County, and an associate with a large insurance defense firm.
