Andrew G. Vassalle graduated from Columbia University in 1984, where he obtained a B.A. in Political Science. Andrew earned his law degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1987. Andrew was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1987 and the New York State Bar in 1998. Mr. Vassalle is also admitted to practice before the following United States District Courts: New Jersey (1987); Southern District of New York (1992); and the Eastern District of New York (1992).
Mr. Vassalle has been involved in the defense of first and third-party matters on behalf of insurers and self-insured entities for over 23 years. The first-party matters relate to coverage issues and property claims. The third-party practice relates to the defense of municipal, premises liability and environmental actions.
Andrew has also been active in appellate practice throughout his career. Over 35 decisions related to cases where he has prepared briefs have been published at the Appellate Division level. The appeals have related to a wide variety of cases, including: premises liability Kempter v. Erban, 284 A.D.2d 503 (2d Dep’t 2001); Adelstein v. Waterview Towers, 250 A.D.2d 790 (2d Dep’t 1998]; insurance coverage Matter of New York Cent. Mut. Ins. Co. v. Steiert, 68 A.D.3d 1120 (2d Dep’t 2009); Gottlieb v. Blue Ridge Ins. Co., 300 A.D.2d 541 (2d Dep’t 2002); Transtate Ins. Co. v. Paradise Palace, 238 A.D.2d 505 (2d Dep’t 1997); environmental claims Prato v. Vigliotta, 277 A.D.2d 214 (2d Dep’t 2000); and actions against municipalities Cook v. Town of Oyster Bay, 267 A.D.2d 192 (2d Dep’t 1999), Adrian v. Town of Oyster Bay; 262 A.D.2d 433 (2d Dep’t 1999).
